It Didn't Take Long

Last night, there was a midair collision between an Army helicopter and an American Airlines flight from Kansas, killing all 67 people aboard the two aircraft at the Ronald Regan National Airport in Washington, DC. It was sudden and tragic, and we watched throughout the night, praying that there would be survivors found. All 67 perished.

From what little we know now, the American Airlines, on its final approach to the airport, collided with the military aircraft. The weather was clear, and nothing indicated (at this point) issues with either aircraft. It seems both the military and federal officials will take months if not longer, to investigate and find the cause of this terrible accident.

With this in mind, it all seemed somber when Trump opened his news conference this morning less than 24 hours after the crash. He called it an “hour of anguish” for the nation and that "the work has now shifted to a recovery mission," he said. "Sadly, there are no survivors." "We are in mourning, this has really shaken a lot of people."

And then, as if on cue, he turned the press conference into a political tirade.

"We do not know what led to this crash, but we have some very strong opinions and ideas," Mr. Trump said. "I put safety first. Obama, Biden and the Democrats put policy first," Mr. Trump said. "FAA diversity push includes focus on hiring people with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities. That is amazing, and then it says FAA says people with severe disabilities are the most underrepresented segment of the workforce, and they want them in, and they want them. They can be air traffic controllers. I don't think so," he said.

Trump continued to claim that Biden and the FAA were“actively recruiting workers who suffer severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative.” Referring to Pete Buttigieg, the former transportation secretary, “He’s run it right into the ground with his diversity,”

Not even two weeks into his term, Trump claims DEI caused the disaster and that the current air traffic controllers aren’t the “brilliant people” needed for the positions and that they need to be “a very special talent and a very special genius, to be blessed to do it”.

So the investigation hasn’t even clocked 24 hours after the crash and the President had concluded that the issue was traffic controller caused and because of diversity issues. And when asked about how he came to that conclusion, he said “because I have common sense”.

I have to admit, I didn’t think it would be this soon after the inauguration for Trump to resume the “crazy uncle” antics that plagued his first term and much of the campaign. Haitians eating dogs, Jan 6 rioters were patriots, the economy is in shambles, and of course, “the election was stolen.”

Much of this is by design…to cause confusion and to have us take our “eye off the ball.” And make no mistake about it. Trump plans to carry out much of the Project 2025 Plan, and what you saw today reinforces that fact. On page 582 of Project 2025, you’ll find the following:

So the point is… don’t get complacent. Trump will use every issue to shift the narrative and push his Project 2025 agenda.  We need to stay alert and informed. Don’t tune out. The country can’t afford it!

Stay vigilant, my friend!
